Medical Intensive Care Unit
The Medical/Coronary Intensive Care Unit is a 12 bed adult ICU serving the local community but also acts as a major referral center for the Intermountain west.
As a staff nurse in the Medical ICU you will have the opportunity to care for a diverse critical patient population with conditions that include:
- Myocardial infarction
- Pre-transplant
- Cardiogenic shock requiring IABP therapy
- Sepsis
- ARDS
- Respiratory failure
- Multi-system failure
- Renal failure requiring CVVHD therapy
- Gastrointestinal and Diabetic Emergencies
- Critical Obstetric Complications
Opportunities you will have as nurse on the MICU:
- Working as an integral member of our interdisciplinary team with our exceptional physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social worker, and MICU ancillary staff to provide exceptional patient care
- The opportunity to become ACLS certified
- Nurses on the MICU serve on the hospital Cardiac Arrest Response team
- Extensive Unit Based Educational Opportunities:
- 12 Lead EKG classes
- AACN, Essentials of Critical Care Orientation ICU Course, ECCO
- Basic EKG Interpretation Course
- Opportunities for IABP and CVVHD certification and training and advanced troubleshooting classes
- Ongoing Unit based workshops and educational opportunities
