SICU
 

Surgical Intensive Care Unit

Located in the Eccles Critical Care Pavilion, this state-of-the-art. 20-bed SICU is part of University Health Care's Level 1 trauma program and treats critical-diagnosis surgical patients. If you want to see and do it all in critical care nursing, this is the unit for you.

As an SICU nurse you will treat patients from a number of surgical areas, including:

  • General Surgery
  • Cardiothoracic surgery, including ventricular assist devices and intra-aortic balloon pumps
  • Heart, kidney, liver, lung, and pancreas transplants
  • Multiple trauma
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery
