2009
- The Clinical Neurosciences Center was recognized among the nation’s top neuroscience programs, receiving the highest designation as a Neuroscience Center of Excellence (COE), according to the Neuroscience Center of Excellence Survey, conducted by NeuStrategy, Inc.
2008
- University of Utah Health Care's gynecologic and cancer care rated 21st and 40th in the country in U.S. News & World Reports' 19th annual survey of America's Best Hospitals. The rankings place University Health Care among the nation's top providers for the 15th time.
- University of Utah Hospital received the Consumer’s Choice Award for the 10th consecutive year by National Research Corporation. University Hospital also received recognition for Best Overall Quality, Best Image and Reputation, and Best Doctors and Nurses. The results were published in Modern Healthcare Magazine.
- University Hospital’s AirMed received awards for Pediatric Incident of the Year, Outstanding Response in a Specific Incident, and Outstanding Search and Rescue Incident during the 2008 Utah Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
- University Hospital became the first hospital in Utah and 73rd in the nation to receive official designation as “Baby Friendly,” an international initiative recognizing facilities that create the best possible environment for successful breastfeeding.
2007
- University of Utah Hospital was named one of the country's best hospitals by the National Research Corporation (NRC). In the annual competition, University Hospital received the 2007/08 Consumer Choice Award for the Salt Lake City area for its high quality and image.
- University Hospital was recognized as one of the top 100 hospitals in the country by Cleverly & Associates in their 2007 State of Hospital Industry report. The ranking assesses a hospital’s value to the community through its financial strength and performance. University Hospital is the only Utah hospital to make the top 100 list.
- University of Utah Health Care Stroke Center was awarded a certificate by the American Heart Association for the Gold Performance Achievement Award." This is the highest level of award given by AHA and indicates Sustained Performance Achievement (two years or more of high performance).
- AirMed voted International Program of the Year by The Association of Air Medical Services, which represents nearly 500 medical transport programs worldwide. AirMed was recognized for its superior level of patient care, quality leadership, safety, and commitment to the community.
2006
- University Hospital was ranked in the top 10 nationally by the University HealthSystem Consortium’s Quality and Accountability rankings. This ranking “assesses organizational performance across a broad spectrum of high priority dimensions of patient care.” Specifically, they look at safety, mortality, effectiveness, and equity.
