- You must have taken a ride-along class within one year before you are able to schedule a ride along, and participate in a helicopter and helipad safety orientation before you will be allowed to fly.
- After submitting your dates, you will be contacted as soon as possible regarding your ride along dates. Please allow us adequate time for one of the designated staff members from the program to contact you back before calling.
- GUIDELINES
- Ride Along participants should dress appropriately for the weather, using layers for cold temperatures in anticipation of possibly spending long periods of time outside. Fabrics should be of natural fibers (cotton, wool, etc.). Please do not wear nylon or other synthetic fiber clothing. Leather boots are recommended for foot protection. EMS uniforms are appropriate. If you do not have an EMS uniform, a pair of dark cotton pants and cotton pullover shirt is preferred. If it is cold, bring a warm coat. NO DENIM OR JEANS!
- You must be in good health and not suffering from a head cold on the day of your Ride Along. The flight crew on duty reserves the right to reschedule a participant if in their judgement you should not fly due to illness. Participants who are pregnant will only be allowed to fly during the first trimester of pregnancy. You must not have any physical limitations that would restrict a prompt entry and exit from the aircraft. Participant's weight must not exceed 200 pounds.
- Please bring something with you to do when you are not flying (i.e. school work, book to read, etc.). Bring money or food to eat, as you'll be eating with the flight crews. We have a refrigerator and microwave if needed. Eating during your day with us helps reduce airsickness.
- To schedule a Ride Along day, please complete the application from the link on this page and submit it.. Information needed to return it to us is listed below.
- Ride Alongs are generally scheduled from September 1st to May 31st, but can change at any time due to trainings, aircraft maintenance, etc.

- AirMed reserves the right to refuse participation at any time, at the discretion of the pilot or flight crew.
- No-shows will not be rescheduled.
