Burn Camp Programs 7th Annual Dinner and Auction Event
The University Health Care Burn Center and the Salt Lake Valley Firefighters Association are seeking your support at the 7th Annual Burn Camp Dinner & Auction on Saturday, April 13th, 2013. Approximately400 guests are expected to attend this evening of fine dining with both live and silent auctions. Your donation will help finance our burn camp for burn survivors. In 2010, approximately 100 burn survivors will have the opportunity to attend our child, adolescent, or adult burn camps free of charge.
In 2012, 373 patients with severe thermal, chemical, electrical, and abuse injuries were admitted to the University Health Care Burn Center. It is the only burn center in the intermountain region and it provides intensive care, surgery, therapy, and outpatient services. However, burn survivors need more than just medical care. They require support in dealing with their permanent disfigurement and scarring. This support is especially important for adolescents and children.
That is why in 1993 the first burn camp was organized. It was a six-day river rafting trip for adolescent burn survivors. Twenty years later, this camp, along with four others, are now offered to survivors free of charge. These programs help burn survivors reintegrate into society and grow into remarkable stewards of our community.
As a sponsor, your company logo will be prominently displayed on our sponsor site and at the silent auction tables where the items are displayed.
