Cardiac Surgery
What is Cardiac Surgery?
Cardiothoracic surgery is the field of medicine directed toward the surgical treatment for diseases involving the chest including coronary artery disease, valvular disease of the heart, diseases of the thoracic aorta, and end-stage cardiac disease. In addition to cardiac surgery we also surgically treat cancers of the lung, esophagus, and chest wall. From the time honored open heart surgeries such as coronary artery bypass grafting to innovative laser revascularization and minimally invasive procedures, our cardiothoracic surgery program offers state of the art surgical interventions to both adults and children.
