As part of the U's Cardiac Imaging Lab, the Dual Source Computer Tomography Scanner (CT) provides remarkably clear definition of cardiac anatomy in ways that we could not have imagined just a few years ago.
This advanced technology - the fastest in the Intermountain West - allows our physicians to detect coronary artery disease, even when there are no symptoms. And compared to older CT scanners, this leading-edge technology is safer not only because it is noninvasive, but also because its speed minimizes exposure to radiation by nearly 50%.
