Vascular Ultrasound
Our Cardiovascular Center offers a full range of vascular studies and diagnostic testing, including a noninvasive vascular ultrasound – a procedure that is used to examine blood circulation in a patient’s neck, abdomen, arms and legs.
The test are performed by our specially trained technologists and may be used to evaluate one or more of the following conditions:
- The blood flow in the arteries in your neck that supply blood to the brain (carotid ultrasound)
- The blood flow in the arteries to detect the presence, severity and specific location of a narrowed area of the arteries (peripheral arterial disease or PAD)
- The blood flow in the veins to detect clots (DVT) or reflux (venous insufficiency)
- The size of the abdominal aorta to detect aneurysms (AAA)
- The blood flow in dialysis grafts or fistulas
- The blood flow to a newly transplanted organ
