Cardiovascular Center
Aortic Aneurysms
Surgeons in our Cardiovascular Center are specialty-trained and board-certified to render the highest level of care in their discipline. Our team specializes in the treatment and diagnosis of aortic aneurysms, using state-of-the-art technology to treat patients who suffer from aneurysms.
Such technology includes endovascular stent grafts, a procedure approved by the FDA in 1999, and often used as a substitute for major abdominal surgery. Treating aortic aneurysms used to require major surgery involving weeklong stays in the hospital. Now, many aneurysms are treated using these less-invasive grafts that can be inserted through small incisions, resulting in hospital stays lasting only one to two days.
