Benefits Overview

HEALTH CARE PLAN(s)

  • Choose from either the University Health Care Plan or Regence BlueCross BlueShield Provider networks
  • Choose either an Advantage Plan (PPO) or a Comprehensive Plan (Indemnity)
  • Dental option available – must be enrolled in health plan to enroll in dental
  • Affordable plan – currently employer pays approximately 80% of the cost
  • Employee premiums are very reasonable and paid through pre-tax deductions

PAID TIME OFF

  • PTO is any time away from work: personal, sick and holidays. The accruals begin upon hire, the first eligible pay period and continue while in a benefit-eligible position.
  • Funeral leave for death of immediate family member (must be in .75% FTE benefit-eligible position to receive pay)
  • Jury or Witness duty
  • Annual Military Reserve Training (active military duty is unpaid)

RETIREMENT PLAN(s)

Employer Sponsored 401(a)

  • Benefits Eligible Employee is automatically enrolled @ 6% contribution of gross salary
  • Vesting schedule for eligible service: 4 years @ 50% and 6 years @ 100%
  • Two investment providers to choose from: Fidelity Investments and/or TIAA-CREF

Employee Supplemental Plans 403(b) and or 457(b)

  • Employee can elect to contribute to a 403(b) plan and receive an employer match @ 3% 403(b) (same vesting schedule applies on the 3% employer match contribution)
  • Employee may elect to defer contributions to either or both plan(s)
  • Minimum contribution is $12.50 per pay period and up to annual IRS maximum
  • Over age 50 catch-up provision is available
  • Two investment providers to choose from: Fidelity Investments and/or TIAA-CREF

TUITION REDUCTION BENEFIT

50% Tuition Reduction at University of Utah (must be eligible the day the semester starts)

  • Covers tuition charges only
  • Available for benefit-eligible employee
  • Employee after six-months
  • One year for employee’s spouse, and
  • Three years for employee’s children
