Brief Summary

The purpose of this project is to develop carotid Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) protocols.

Inclusion Criteria

Evidence of carotid disease on at least one side based on recent imaging results. (aprox. 200 participants)

Control Group: Healthy Volunteers (aprox. 100 participants)

 

Exclusion Criteria

Exclusion Criteria for study particiaption:

  1. Inability to provide informed consent
  2. Contraindication to MRI
  3. Pregnancy
  4. Vascular stent placed within 8 weeks

Exclusion Criteria for gadolinium injection:

  1. Subject declines injection of contrast agent on informed consent document
  2. eGFR < 30mL/min/1.73m2
  3. History of allergy to gadolinium contrast

Subjects with exclusion criteria for contrast may still participate in the study without contrast
