About Us
The Department of Dermatology has been serving Utah’s patient population since 1972, starting with one physician, Dr. Gerald Krueger. Today, with twenty-five faculty, the Department has become the largest clinical, research, and educational facility of Dermatology in the Intermountain West.
The success of our clinical services is reflected by steady growth.
Today, our clinics not only offer a wide range of services, but cover a diverse geographical area.
- 22 full-time faculty, 3 part-time faculty, 8 residents, additional volunteer faculty, and over 200 staff members.
- 70,000 patient visits in 2008 in contrast to 4,800 patient visits in 1987.
- Referrals of challenging cases from the entire Intermountain West (Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming), and other distant sites (Malaysia to Germany).
- Telemedicine serving rural/underserved communities.
Ten clinic locations: Two University of Utah Hospital Clinics, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Two Murray Clinics, Dermatology Cosmetics Center, Stansbury Park Clinic, Redstone Clinic, Primary Children’s Medical Center, and Veterans Administration Hospital Clinic.
