Miles for Melanoma Fundraising Event
Soaking up the sun's rays used to be considered "healthy" . . . before we learned the dangers of UV radiation. We now know that overexposure to the sun can be deadly! Skin cancer has become an epidemic. It is estimated that half of ALL new cancers are skin cancers.
On August 22, 2009, Contender Bicycles and members of the Department of Dermatology will be participating in the Tour of Utah's 1,000 Warrior Bicycle Race and will be raising awareness about skin cancer and melanoma, in particular.
The Miles for Melanoma Event will help raise research funding for the skin cancer program at the University of Utah.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 for melanoma research! Support the efforts of the riders* and Give Now. Help us reach our goal!
*When filling in the donation form, if you would like to sponsor a specific rider, please be sure to type in the rider's name in the Special Instructions and Comments field so they will get credit for your donation.
