Meet the Educators
Micah Baker, BSN, RN, CCRN, Staff Development Educator
Micah has been at the U since 2004. She spent 8 years at the bedside in the MICU before shifting her focus to staff education. She teaches Basic ICU, Exceptional Patient Experience and works closely with Quality and Patient Safety. When not teaching or working on QI projects she is on the slopes at Alta teaching her son to ski powder.

Roxanne Bowers, BSN, RN, Staff Development Educator
Roxanne has been at the U since February 1999. Her focus is on housewide education and working with the Nurse Educators on the units. She has two really wonderful grandchildren and tries to spend time with each of them every week. She belongs to two book clubs and read a wide variety of books (at least two every month).

Darrin Doman, MS, CCC-SLP Staff Development Educator
Darrin began his employment with the U in 2003 as a Speech/Language Pathologist on the Inpatient Medical Rehabilitation unit. In 2011, a career shift brought him to Clinical Staff Education where his focus turned to patient education. Darrin is well-known for his “Dysphagia” lecture that is part of the clinical orientation curriculum. He is an active supporter of the Brain Injury Association of Utah (BIAU), volunteering on the planning committee for their annual 5K fundraising event. He also enjoys traveling and will have visited all the Seven Modern Wonders of the World by Summer 2013 (if all goes according to plan). In his spare time, Darrin can be found performing with the Utah Chamber Artists, appearing on stage and teaching voice lessons.

Jesse Lang, BS, RRT, EMT-P, Staff Development Educator
Jesse began his career at University Health Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in 2008 where he gained a love for critical care and emergency services. In time he would also become a member of AirMed as a respiratory therapist and travel to many of our surrounding states, bringing critically ill and injured patients to University Health Care for stabilization, treatment, and rehabilitation. Since 2011, Jesse has been a full time member of Clinical Staff Education where his responsibilities include coordinating and teaching ACLS and PALS classes to the varied staff at the U. In his “off” time, Jesse loves being a dad and working his part-time job as a firefighter/paramedic.

Dan Lawes, BS, EMT-I, Clinical Staff Education Supervisor
Dan has been employed at the U since 1997. In 2008 he became responsible for teaching BLS, ACLS, PALS and Peripheral IV courses, after teaching EMS for 12 years at the U and in other states. He also coordinates Clinical Orientation. He is a Boston native and big Red Sox Fan.

Tiffany Noss, BSN, RN, Staff Development Educator, Student Placement Coordinator
Tiffany began her career at the U in 2004. Her specific education duties include the Nursing Students and Nursing Student Interns. Seven of her 11 years in nursing was in trauma, transplant, and general surgery, prior to becoming a unit educator for Huntsman Cancer Hospital. Caution before reading...her blood will always run true blue as a loyal Cougar Fan!

Barbara Wohlitz, BSN, RN, Manager
Barb began working at the University on March 22, 1999. She enjoys teaching leadership courses, critical thinking and Clinical Orientation. Her previous experience includes 22 years as a bedside nurse and 20 years in education (13 of those years as a unit educator). Another Wisconsin native, she also loves the Green Bay Packers. Talking about her grandson and music - directing the church choir, singing and playing the piano - are her favorite pastimes, when she's not busy reading, doing needlepoint or cross stitch embroidery.
