Medical Assistant Partnership Program
Start your MA career today! We are pleased to announce University Health Care is beginning another Medical Assistant class in partnership with Salt Lake Community College (SLCC).
Note: We are not currently accepting applications for the MA Partnership Program. Please contact Heather with questions.
Qualifications are as follows:
- You are currently employed at the University Health Care Hospitals or Clinics or the University of Utah and have been employed for at least 6 months (180 days) prior to your application.
- You are in good standing with your department and not on probation or any other disciplinary action in the department you work or the hospital.
- You are willing to contract with University Health Care to work as a full time Medical Assistant for 2 years (4160 hours) following graduation. Overtime hours will not be calculated into your pay back hours.
- Complete the on-line application process for SLCC (www.slcc.edu/recruiting). This will include the application, a small fee, mailing of transcripts and a Math and English placement test. This should be done ASAP! Those already enrolled at SLCC need not re-apply.
- Complete the internal University Health Care Application (not currently accepting applications).
Applicants will be selected based on manager recommendation, employee performance and tenure with the institution. Applications will be reviewed on a points system by the Medical Assistant Panel consisting of University Health Care and Human Resources personnel.
