Dr. Roxanne Bartel currently works at the University Neuropsychiatric Institute and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Utah. She trained at Yale School of Medicine and the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston. Dr. Bartel has worked for 20 years as an inpatient psychiatrist in the University of Utah Health Care System. She also has had experience in correctional psychiatry and community psychiatry. Her main area of interest is the care of persons with severe and persistent mental illness, particularly schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She has been the Course Director for a regional mental health conference, Generations, for the last three years, and lectures in the community, such as at the annual UAMI conference. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Bartel is the Training Director for the General Psychiatry program at the University of Utah. Dr. Bartel is not accepting new patients.
