Joan VanAtta, APRN MSN, is a Nurse Practitioner at the University of Utah, Huntsman Cancer Hospital. As an inpatient acute care Oncology specialist, her clinical expertise is in the provision of Interleukin II treatment to Melanoma and Renal Cell Cancer patients. She has cared for Oncology inpatients for many years at the University of Utah, even prior to the opening of Huntsman Cancer Hospital.

Joan VanAtta received her M SN from the University of Pennsylvania. She received training in Internal Medicine and Oncology from the University of Utah. In the past, Joan VanAtta served as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Critical Care Division at the University of Utah Hospital, responsible for clinical education in the SICU, MICU, NICU, Burn Unit, ED and Air Med. Prior to sub-specializing in Oncology, she practiced inpatient general Internal Medicine at the University of Utah Hospital. She is currently ANCC certified as an adult and pediatric nurse practitioner and AACN certified as a critical care registered nurse.
