Dr. L. LuAnn Minich received her undergraduate degree in West Virginia at Marshal University and her M.D. from West Virginia University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Minich serves as the Director of Pediatric Cardiovascular Research and Associate Director of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and Primary Children’s Medical Center, where she currently practices.
Dr. Minich’s clinical and research interests and expertise include congenital heart disease, Kawasaki disease, echocardiography, and evidence-based medicine.
Presently, Dr. Minich holds the position of Primary Investigator of the Pediatric Heart Network and serves on the Executive Board of the American Society of Echocardiography and the Executive Board for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as the Cardiology Sub-board of the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the Board of the Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease Council, and serves on the Research and Nomination Committees of the American Society of Echocardiography. She holds Fellowship status in the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Minich has co-authored more than 100 scientific publications and presented more than 100 abstracts. She has mentored numerous medical students, residents, and fellows and received the faculty mentoring award in 2011. She is frequently invited to speak at regional and national scientific meetings related to her areas of clinical research and clinical interest/expertise.
