Sharon L. Ernst, MPH, RD, CSP, CD is a registered dietitian, board certified as a specialist in pediatric nutrition and currently serves as Associate Professor (Clinical) in the Department of Pediatrics and Clinical Instructor, Division of Nutrition, College of Health. She received her Bachelor’s Degrees in Biology and Medical Dietetics at Utah State University and a Master’s Degree in public health from the University of Minnesota. She completed a nutrition fellowship at the University of Colorado focusing on inborn errors of metabolism and special health care needs. She then moved to Utah and worked at the Utah Department of Health coordinating nutrition programs in the Division of Family Health Services. For the past 20 years she has been the chief metabolic dietitian in the Division of Medical Genetics, Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah.

Her research interests are aimed at advancing treatment strategies for nutrition interventions as they relate to the treatment and outcomes of individuals with genetic and biochemical disorders.
