UofU Patient December 15, 2012I am not bothered if there is a delay in seeing Dr. Hood. He is a compassionate, thorough doctor, and I know from my own experience with him that he is a skilled surgeon. I feel confident in his treatment of my degenerated spine. I feel fortunate to be one of his patients, and I trust him implicitly. It is an hour's drive to University Hospital, and my visits to the clinic are well worth the drive. "I am in good hands".

This visit only and after many in the past I felt a little rushed appt. wise and forgot to read my notes for reminder as to tell him about so I was not happy with the visit and next is one year from now. Not his fault but I still wanted to let him know my concerns. I guess I can call and let his assistant know and have him/her forward my concerns

UofU Patient May 18, 2012While Dr. Hood may have performed 10,000 micro-discectomies, I have not experienced even one, and it my spinal column and quality of life at stake. With this background, he was very patient in answering all of my questions, including the details of my degenerative condition, what I can expect in the future without surgery and how to care for myself, and details of the surgical procedure. I have already referred others to Dr. Hood. I appreciate him being pleasant, personable, competent, and willing to take the time to answer my questions and help me to understand. For me, the best antidote for fear is a sound understanding of the facts.

UofU Patient March 28, 2012Dr. Hoods skills and ability's are well known in this state and surrounding area. I was delivering medical records to hospital and was walking out slowly with limp and in pain. A fellow patient as me if I had my operation yet, I responded no. He asked me who was my doctor and I responded Dr. Hood. He told me... you have the best, to which I responded I know. He also told me that the hospital and staff was excellant, and not to worry that I would be well taken care of.

UofU Patient March 27, 2012This was a follow up appointment from my back surgery on 1/25/12. It was great since the pain in my left hip was alleviated. Dr. Hood gave me some exercises I can do now including walking.

UofU Patient January 24, 2012My experience with the process was excellent. Dr. Hood was very concerned about my spine and showed me the MRI and Xrays which reflected my conditions. He was very thorough in explaining the procedures that would accompany my surgery. This made me feel very comfortable with the surgery. Also, his nurse, Marion McMichael, was very generous with her phone time comforted greatly to my comfort about the procedure.
