Bio

Matthew Peterson, M.D., is a Reproductive Endocrinologist in the University of Utah Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Peterson received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude from Brigham Young University in 1977 and his M.D. from the University of Utah in 1981. His residency training in obstetrics and gynecology was accomplished at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. He stayed on as a faculty member for two years and then completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Miami in Florida. He joined the University of Utah in 1989 and serves as the John A. Dixon Presidential Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

His clinical research interests include genetic associations and current treatment options in polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis and mullerian anomalies. He was the principal investigator for the NIH’s largest prospective evaluation of environmental chemical exposures and endometriosis, the ENDO study. In addition to the endocrine disruptors being identified, the ENDO study has also elucidated facts regarding the natural history, diagnosis and outcomes associated with endometriosis.

For over 20 years, Dr. Peterson has collaborated with researchers in the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the development of novel drug delivery systems for the treatment of ovarian cancer. These activities are designed to improve the specificity of treatment and reduce nonspecific toxicity in order to increase response and survival in women facing this cancer. His expertise in these activities involves the design and testing of appropriate ovarian cancer models.

Clinically, Dr. Peterson has an active clinical practice in reproductive endocrinology and accepts new patients. He is the co-editor of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility: Integrating Modern Clinical and Laboratory Practice. As Practice Director of the in vitro fertilization program at the Utah Center for Reproductive Medicine, he is proud of the excellent patient satisfaction and success rates that significantly exceed national statistics.

He and his wife have five children. His family enjoys snow skiing, water skiing, and dirt bike riding.

September 25, 2014

I was very impressed with Dr. Peterson. I was really glad that he was able to understand and know about my situation and help me to find solutions to my medical problems. He was able to give me hope and help me move forward with treatments. He was very kind and made me feel completely at ease. I most definitely will and have recommend Dr. Peterson to family and friends.

September 19, 2014

Dr. Peterson is so nice and helpful. He is understanding and informative. He genuinely cares about his patients and their concerns

September 16, 2014

Dr. Peterson was very informative, he explained my diagnosis clearly and gave me plenty of opportunity to ask questions. He did not seem to be in a hurry and I felt that he was empathetic toward my needs and care.

September 08, 2014

Dr Peterson is amazing! He is kind and courteous. He really takes the time to understand you, and your goals. He is very sensitive the nature of his work and is encouraging every step of the way. He had always gone above and beyond for me and I am very grateful.

September 01, 2014

Dr. Peterson is the best OBGYN I have ever seen. I will never change, unless he retires :(

August 25, 2014

All of the good things I had heard about Dr. Peterson were true! He is GREAT! He was helpful, engaging, insightful, willing to listen, yet kept things moving at a good pace. I was very happy with the care I received.

August 20, 2014

Love Dr. Peterson!

August 18, 2014

Dr Peterson has been wonderful. I was nervous switching providers after Dr Hammoud moved but have been impressed by his knowledge and genuine caring nature. I feel like he tries to provide me with the best options and encourages me to choose whats best for me.

July 20, 2014

Excellent! He was very thorough and explained things well. I felt very comfortable with him immediately.

July 15, 2014

Dr. Peterson was fantastic. He addressed my concerns, set up a plan, and included me in making the decisions.

July 14, 2014

Dr. Peterson was very friendly and made us feel like our concerns were valid. He also didn't rush the appointment at all, and spent plenty of time with us. Much appreciated!

July 14, 2014

I am ecstatic that I found Dr. Peterson. He was kind, helpful, and gave me some great options. I will definitely recommend him to others.

July 11, 2014

I was very satisfied with the overall experience. I would have liked a more clear explanation about when to start the prometrium from the nurse. Also the medical assistant didn't know what the term IUI stood for.

July 11, 2014

love Dr Peterson! he is amazing!!

July 09, 2014

When we asked questions they were not answered. Also we didn't even have time to ask more questions. Everything was so rushed we barely had a time to talk or say anything about our medication or our concerns. After the examination the doctor said he would be right back. He never came back and left our prescription outside the door to pick up on our way out. We drove early that morning from out of state for an appointment that lasted maybe 20 minutes and none of our questions were answered. We left with MANY more questions than we came in with. We were VERY disappointed and will never choose to visit this doctor again.

June 21, 2014

i wish the transition from dr Hammond to dr Peterson was smoother. I felt brushed aside when dr Hammond left, no one informed me until I wanted to make an apt. then it took me forever to get in only to have my apt changed because of other peoples surgeries, couldn't I have just had a consult with some other dr? the news they gave me could have even been a phone consult...

June 21, 2014

excellent

June 20, 2014

We are very happy to be able to work with Dr. Peterson because of all the great things we've heard about him.

June 18, 2014

We were recommended by a friend, and we could tell by our first visit that he really is as awesome as we had heard.

June 16, 2014

Dr. Petereson is great. I appreciate his great bedside manner and cheerfulness.

June 13, 2014

I have a lot of trust in Dr. Peterson's experience as well as in him. I recommend Dr. Peterson to all of my friends in need of infertility treatment. I always feel heard. and never feel dorky for asking questions. I also feel comfortable that he is in the business of helping patients reach their dreams of having children rather than what encountered elsewhere where I have felt other doctors were in the business of getting wealthy.

June 10, 2014

I was a little unclear of some follow up care instructions, but I forgot the questions I was supposed to ask until after the visit was over. My Chart really comes in handy for those questions I remember later and the staff at this clinic is great about responding.

June 09, 2014

I was so impressed!

May 30, 2014

they do a great job!

May 18, 2014

Results of my procedure were told to me when I was still coming out of sedation, which led to me having multiple questions later when it had fully worn off and the doctor was no longer present.

May 08, 2014

Dr. Peterson is simply the best. He is very caring, easy to talk to, and takes time to answer questions or concerns.

April 20, 2014

Dr. Peterson was great!

April 11, 2014

I felt he listened and followed up on concerns I did have.

March 26, 2014

I am always impressed with the respect given and the friendliness of all the staff!

March 22, 2014

Dr. Peterson was AMAZING!!! I loved him from the second he came in our room! He spent so much time with us and had such an easy yet aggressive plan I finally felt like the Dr. was really listening to me and not just agreeing with me - but providing me with options and help that I can't find on my own.

March 13, 2014

My first visit at the clinic and with the doctor, very impressed-excellent.

March 13, 2014

Dr. Peterson seemed to have a vested interest in my case and was very conscientious about the critical timing of procedures. He even gave me his cell phone number to call him about my decisions. He is aces.

March 13, 2014

Dr. Peterson has spent a great deal of time outside of our appointments answering questions for both me and my husband...and we have lots of questions. He has proven his willingness to be available and to answer any question.

March 12, 2014

Dr. Peterson was excellent at easing our minds about going through some of the same experiences with fertility medications, gave great information and resources to get more information from, explained how things have changed in the last several years and gave us some better options for managing and treating my PCOS. We were even given an opportunity to join a study; however, we declined because of bed experiences with Dr. Ahmoud and the fact that if focuses on male infertility.

March 01, 2014

Dr. Peterson is wonderful!!

February 24, 2014

We have already referred friends to the clinic.

February 20, 2014

I have already referred several people to Dr. Peterson.

February 15, 2014

I had a few questions I didn't get to ask in the appointment because Dr. Peterson was in a rush. Nevertheless, I know they squeezed me in before another patient because of the last minute scheduling and that he had a really full schedule, and I appreciate being able to get in at all. However, considering we were scheduling a surgery, I wanted to make sure I asked all my questions because it wasn't a minor decision. But Dr. Peterson did call me a few days later and answered my other questions.

February 14, 2014

Most likely I will not return to this clinic or recommend it to anyone.

February 11, 2014

Dr. Peterson cared for me extremely well.

February 08, 2014

Terrifically impressed!

February 03, 2014

Dr. Peterson is the reason we come to the U of U!

January 31, 2014

Dr. Peterson is one of a kind. He's awesome.

January 28, 2014

Both Dr. Johnstone and Dr. Peterson were fantastic and I will highly recommend them in the future.

January 27, 2014

thank you

January 13, 2014

My husband and I felt like we got forgotten about after the procedure. we were told to have me lie down for 15 minutes. We both assumed someone would come back to check on us and to see if we had any further questions (which we did).

January 10, 2014

We've been so blessed to be able to work with Dr Peterson - I can think of no room for improvement. Many, many thanks!

January 06, 2014

I came to see him after three friends referred me there. He was the best provider I have ever seen for the medical conditions I have and the results I hope to have.

December 17, 2013

After many years, I finally feel as if I understand my condition and the options for treating it. Dr. Peterson was extremely thorough and responsive to my questions.

December 06, 2013

excellent-personable and very educated A++

November 28, 2013

Dr. Peterson is the most kind and positive doctor I have ever known. He always makes us laugh and always has a big smile on his face when he sees us. he has a difficult specialty and handles his patients well

November 27, 2013

Dr. Peterson is a great doctor.

November 25, 2013

I felt like he cared for me and explained things really well.

November 10, 2013

So far very impressed and great doctor!

November 01, 2013

We love Dr. Peterson. He is professional, appropriately funny, genuine, and brilliant.

October 31, 2013

We loved Dr Peterson! He showed us that he truly cared about our situation. We feel positive he is the one to help us!

October 31, 2013

dr Peterson is not only very human, very very caring, he made us feel so special my husband and I and he did use some very easy words for me to understand wveything( French is my first language) I was 100% confident with him and his team. he is the leader of the industry and I did shop around before choosing him.

October 25, 2013

After a year of coming to the UCRM, our first IVF cycle worked. I feel so much gratitude to Dr. Peterson for helping us make our dream of starting a family a reality. Not only is he a great doctor, he is a great person. He shows so much care and compasion in everything he does, and that is priceless. I will truly miss seeing him and the rest of the staff as we embark on this next step of our journey. Thank you so much!

October 17, 2013

I am satisfied with Dr Peterson overall but feel he could spend a little more time explaining things. For example, he told us that next cycle we need to add a trigger shot, ultrasound, and prometrium to our regimen but I am unsure about many of the details regarding these things.

October 14, 2013

Dr. Peterson did not make me feel rushed during my appointment. He took time to listen to my concerns and thoroughly addressed them. He made me feel a part of my treatment plan.

October 07, 2013

Dr. Peterson is fantastic!

October 02, 2013

Nurses went the extra mile to make sure we understood everything, including medications and dosing

September 30, 2013

my only complaint is having a very inexperienced doctor in school come in and do the appt. usually they ask us if that's ok, and in this instance the appt wasn't going well clinically, and then having someone inexperienced doing everything did not make things any better. Yes my doctor was present and helped her, but I think for this particular appt I would have preferred just to have him. I understand everyone needs to start somewhere and learn, but for me this was just not the appt to do so

September 23, 2013

I am thrilled beyond words to have found Dr. Peterson and Dr. Strebel. Their bedside manner is bar none. They are the nicest, most caring and compassionate doctors I have met.

September 20, 2013

Dr. Peterson is wonderful!

September 10, 2013

I actually already referred a good friend to your clinic :)

September 03, 2013

dr Peterson is human, my English is not perfect and I understand everything he says. so happy to do ivf with your hospital

September 02, 2013

Dr. Petersen has gone out of his way (coming in on off days, etc) to see us when it was necessary. I have friends who are in the process of considering IVF and I have already started to describe my positive experience at UCRM -- and letting them know that they have many other convenient locations around the valley.

August 27, 2013

Very kind and informative.

August 02, 2013

My only concern was that immediately upon entering the room, Dr. Peterson wanted to do a sonohysteroscopy. I was already a little on edge because of the treatment from my prior OB/GYN. My referring OB/GYN had said they asked if this needed to be done before my appointment but was told no. Though this is hearsay from me, since I was not present for that conversation. Though, I was very happy the procedure was done by Dr. Peterson and not my previous OB/GYN.

July 30, 2013

waiting so long to follow up is my only issue!

July 23, 2013

Dr. Peterson is wonderful.

July 22, 2013

I have referred this care provider to many. We have had such a positive experience with him! We appreciate his sensitivity to our issues and concern for us. We also appreciate his honesty and willingness to answer any and all questions.

Doctor Peterson was excellent for me and my husband. We loved him, he answered all the question we had very clearly.

July 09, 2013

I felt really comfortable with Dr. Peterson. I really liked him!

July 02, 2013

Both Dr. Dorais and Dr. Peterson were great! I have so much confidence in them to make sure things go smoothly and safely. Dr. Peterson always makes me feel at ease, and I truly know I'm in good hands with him.

July 01, 2013

I had heard that there were varying levels of embryos and my doctor told me 2 were good, so he'd implant them, four were to be watched and the rest were not good. after the process I wondered how good my embryos were since two were transferred and originally I was told that multiple births were undesirable. I should've clarified, but I didn't.

June 27, 2013

Dr. Peterson is a wonderful doctor. He made me feel like he really cared about my condition and explained my options thoroughly. He also took a lot of time answering the questions I had for him, which was very nice. I am very impressed with Dr. Peterson and I'm so glad he's my doctor. I would definitely recommend him to anyone having reproductive issues.

June 18, 2013

Dr.Peterson exceded my expectations. He spent a lot of time with us and was extremely thorough. He was very friendly and detailed in his explanations.

June 17, 2013

I really enjoy working with Dr Peterson but have had trouble with ingormaton given to me by nurses and ma.

June 14, 2013

Dr. Peterson is wonderful. He instantly instills confidence and that is very important to me. He is willing to work around your schedule even if it is really early in the morning.

June 10, 2013

Dr. Peterson was amazing. He was extremely attentive to our needs, spent a great amount of time with us answering our questions, showed sincere sympathy for our conditions, voiced optimism in our journey, and gave detailed information about how we work on a successful outcome. He made us feel like what we want is possible, and gave us so many avenues to choose from. He was very knowledgeable and understanding. We will definitely recommend him to anyone looking for reproductive help.

June 10, 2013

I have PCOS and have been battling this for over 10 years. Dr. Peterson is the ONLY Dr. I have seen in 10 years that actually seems to care about my problem and didn't just prescribe me meds and shuffle me out the door and say "lose weight" he actually understands what I'm dealing with and cares. He is definitely the most knowledgeable Dr. I have been to and that makes me very comfortable.

June 04, 2013

We have and will continue to tell everyone Of our wonderful experience!

June 01, 2013

Dr. Peterson is amazing! We are so grateful for the personal and professional care he has given us the past 7 years. Couldn't ask for a better doctor.

May 28, 2013

Our first conversation was great, because Dr Peterson is knowledgeable and knows which questions to ask to obtain a clear understanding of my situation.

May 22, 2013

We love Dr. Peterson and his staff!

May 21, 2013

I can't say enough about Dr. Peterson. He has been fabulous!

May 15, 2013

he spent time getting to know me and was very courteous and professional

May 13, 2013

He didn't answer questions I had and told me to talk to my other care provider.

April 22, 2013

The only thing that was a negative was the wait & I understand things come up.

April 22, 2013

such a good experience it was a complete difference from the other doctor I was seeing

April 19, 2013

I only put a 4 on #1 because I feel like that is appropriate and the best answer. He was very friendly but not gushing, it brought my emotionalness down to not have someone try to empathize. He is a specialist not a family doc. He was very courteous and very friendly but not overly so. I expected a professional and I got a professional. Very nice. I expect he can figure me out to some degree:)

April 15, 2013

Dr Peterson took the time to listen and to help me through something that was difficult. He is very caring and well educated. I already have told 3-4 people in St George to choose Dr Peterson.

April 08, 2013

I have been VERY pleased with Dr. Peterson and the staff I have encountered. I could tell that Dr. Peterson was there every step of the way and I was more than just another number for him. Words can not express the calm that he was able to bring during a very stressful situation.

April 08, 2013

Dr. Peterson did a great job of addressing the issue and helping us understand all of our options

April 08, 2013

Dr. Dorais is a pleasure to work with.

April 07, 2013

Dr. Johnstone is very friendly and professional and makes me feel at ease in discussing the issues and options and she does so in an easy-to-understand manner.

April 05, 2013

Dr. Petersen was excellent to work with. He communicated effectively in a caring manner and I felt that I could ask the questions I needed to in order to gain a full understanding of my options.

March 25, 2013

Very good dr. He explained everything, and the pros and cons so we could make an informed decision about our care.

March 11, 2013

Dr. Peterson is a compassionate, professional, doctor. You can tell he loves what he does, and really cares about his patients. I will forever be in gratitude.

March 05, 2013

March 05, 2013

When he used words I didn't understand, I asked for clarification and it was given very clearly. Thanks!

March 04, 2013

We had a really good experience with Dr. Peterson. My husband and I both felt like we connected with him and that he joined with us to help us with our health concerns.

March 04, 2013

Felt a little rushed at times. I would have felt a little more confident if my medical records and test results were reviewed before I came in or even while I was there.

March 04, 2013

Dr Peterson is amazing

February 19, 2013

Very respectful and caring, very nice physician.

February 13, 2013

Dr. Peterson was amazing and really took the time to answer my questions. I was really impressed.

February 04, 2013

I think Dr. Peterson is amazing Doctor!!!!

February 01, 2013

Dr. Peterson was fantastic!! Did throw alot of "lingo" around that we didn't understand, but did explain other things thoroughly.. i felt like we got all of our questions answered so that was nice

January 16, 2013

This experience has been a 180 from the service I got in Boise...I would always recommend your services!

January 14, 2013

Dr. Matthew Peterson exhibits fabulous bed-side manner. He was always willing to answer questions, gave us his personal cell phone number if we had follow up questions or concerns and never made us feel rushed. I would absolutely recommend him.

January 14, 2013

Very Good Experience

December 26, 2012

Dr. Peterson made us feel so much positivity about moving forward with our treatments. I've already recommended him to a friend of mine. We felt comfortable with him, and were so impressed with his confidence and knowledge. He was willing to answer all of our questions and gave us a lot of good information.

December 25, 2012

Dr. Peterson is great!

December 19, 2012

I love your entire team. Peterson is very quick but efficient. I trust you guys and have already put in recommendations for you to friends who may need IVF.

December 18, 2012

Again, my epxerience thus far has been incredible. I went to the appointment with no hope of getting pregnant and left with lots of hope for the egg donor program.

December 13, 2012

All of my questions (on my long list) were completely answered. I love this clinic! Thank you for all your care!! The pharmacy tech and myself were a little confused about the prescription description, because a part of it was from "auto fill" and the Dr. didn't get a chance / forgot to erase it. However, before I left with my prescription, I got the directions clarified with the pharmacist.

December 12, 2012

I felt so confident, I read and research about Dr. Peterson before my visit and when I meet him I felt even more confident about what to expect from him. He made me feel better about my tratment and filled my doubts with knoledge and peace. Now I know im in great hands!!! thank you so much

December 11, 2012

We respect and appreciate Dr Peterson so much and we know we are in great hands. Thank you for all you do! We can't imagine going to anyone else!

December 10, 2012

I like Dr Petersen's friendliness and that he uses regular English to explain things, but the appointment felt rushed and I didn't get to ask any of my questions. He also told me how to proceed rather than offering me options and letting me make my own choice. I would have liked more time to go through the different procedures he suggested and discuss their purpose and if they were really necessary.

December 10, 2012

Dr. Peterson is absolutely wonderful. He is genuinely concerned about how I'm doing, and communicates great with my husband as well to keep him in the loop. I feel confident in the best possible outcome by having Dr. Peterson as my physician.

December 05, 2012

We have always been appreciative of the staff at the UofU Reproductive Medicine office. We trust their knowledge and are happy they are staying in front of the technology curve regarding our particular medical treatments.

December 03, 2012

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Peterson. I was very impressed and feel completely comfortable with him. I wouldn't want anyone else now. :)

November 26, 2012

Care provider didn't agree with our decisions about treatment and seemed very irritated that we didn't agree.

November 19, 2012

Dr Petersen was absolutely wonderful. He explained everything well and made sure I understood my treatment. I was referred to him because of my problems getting pregnant. He made me feel at ease about my problem. I so appreciate that!!! I left his office feeling so much better about my situation.

November 12, 2012

I would definitely recommend this team of doctors!

November 06, 2012

Dr Peterson is a great doctor I will be recommending him to others

Dr. Peterson is an excellent physician, who has been my doctor for over 20 years.

October 17, 2012

Dr. Peterson is obviously very confident in his work and goes out of his way for his patients. I am so impressed by his skills as well as his overall friendliness. At this particular appointment I was grateful for the kind words he gave me and his eagerness to help me with the IVF process again next year. Dr. Peterson should recognized for going above and beyond for me and my family. I am sending a letter in separate from this survey with specifics to my care that detail his amazing work.

October 16, 2012

Dr. Peterson was wonderful to us and made us feel like we were talking to an old friend. He has been highly recommended to us by our friends and family members that have also worked with him. We are very excited to work with him in the future.

Dr. Peterson was extremely patient with us. He was very clear in his explanations, which made our decision easier to make. For such an emotional process, Dr. Peterson really put me at ease. I was his focus in all aspects.

September 24, 2012

Felt very comfortable with nurse and Doctor.

September 17, 2012

Feel that it was a little rushed and the results of the ultrasound weren't explained until I asked as he was walking out the door.

September 11, 2012

We were very grateful to have Dr. Peterson work with us on the day of our appointment. We had MANY questions for him. He patiently answered all of them and helped us to think through the decisions we needed to make.

September 10, 2012

The doctor was also very friendly and helpful!

September 10, 2012

Dr. Peterson is great!

September 04, 2012

Dr. Peterson is the first Dr that has given me the time of day! He answered all of our questions and helped us to make the right decision for us! He was amazing and VERY friendly! I had to see him at the facility in Provo and he was running late so he called the MA and had her bring me the phone so that he could talk to me while he tried to get there! Very nice and professional!

September 03, 2012

One of the best doctors Ive been to. Comprehensive, will listen to any concerns you have and address them....not dismiss them. I felt I had complete care, answers, and treatment of the problem I went to him for and sadly that seems rare to find!

September 03, 2012

I LOVE my new doctor! He is very nice and wants you to understand what it is you are going through! He was very helpful in explaining my medications and asked what medications I wanted because there were 2 I could use. He let me know the pros and cons of both and i felt like I could make a very informed decision because of his willingness to help me.

August 30, 2012

It was a great visit because it was my 6 .week ultra sound and I am pregnant ! Thankful to Dr Peterson and all the nursing staff at UCRM

August 07, 2012

I would definitely recommend Dr. Peterson to friends and family.

July 23, 2012

I love these questions, I wish more medical offices / providers were held to such questions. Having said that, I really appreciated the personable way he discussed (and listened!) my situation. I also felt it was a more of a team plan with me included, wh

July 16, 2012

Very good

July 13, 2012

Dr. Petersen was amazing! My husband and I both left the appointment feeling more positive and encouraged than we ever expected. Dr. Petersen was extremely knowledgeable and made my husband and me feel very comfortable. We both felt like he's the first

July 09, 2012

I think Dr. Peterson is wonderful.

July 02, 2012

Again, since I changed to Dr. Petersen, care has been very good.

July 02, 2012

I have referred many friends to Dr Peterson he is amazing and has a gift.

June 26, 2012

I felt that Dr. Petersen instructed me to call and schedule an IUI without asking if that was what we wanted to do next, because it may be the next step that makes sense to do. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, however I felt pressured to try and understand all the instructions before I left, instead of taking the time to discuss the decision of an IUI. Make sense? We went through with the IUI, and for the most part I'm glad we did. We'll see if it yields the results we're hoping for :).

June 19, 2012

He is right to the point. We love that he doesn't make us jump through hoops to get what we want!

June 12, 2012

We have been seeing Dr Petersen for about 8 yrs. We love him and the staff and would recommend him to anyone!

June 11, 2012

I was very impressed by and appreciative of the time Dr. Peterson spent with me. He thoroughly addressed and answered all of my questions and concerns. He did not make me feel rushed; I felt like I had his focus and attention during my appointment. He helped me to feel good about the visit and my plan of care. I felt that he truly cared about my concerns and took a proactive approach to solving them. I was very pleased with my visit to this clinic and would recommend Dr. Peterson to friends and family. I am glad I made this appointment.

June 04, 2012

I felt my questions were answered, even those I didn't voice, and I felt prepared for my surgery.

May 03, 2012

Confusion about medication once I am pregnant. Dr. Peterson and or the PA told us we would be taking a progesterone pill once we became pregnant and a nurse on our last visit ran through meds and said no you will keep doing shots. So we are just waiting for clarification when that time comes. But there does seem to be some confusion there.

May 03, 2012

I didn't really feel like I knew what was going on or that things were being explained to me. What info I got came from listening to him explain things to the intern and other Dr. That being said, I still feel he is a very competent Dr. It just seemed like he was perhaps distracted by the business and training side of things that were going on.

May 02, 2012

The exam was very efficient and quick, only I didn't know about needing a prescription medication until the nurse called later in the day.

April 14, 2012

Because the Dr had a flat tire, he was late, and it felt like he was speaking quickly to get caught up. But he was still very willing to answer any questions and still gave me all the info I needed.

March 16, 2012

couldn't be better

March 15, 2012

Dr. Peterson is amazing. Has ALWAYS been so good and kind with his time and efforts. Will continue to see him and refer everyone to him as well!!!

March 14, 2012

Love, Love, Love, Dr. Petersen have already recommended him to other in the past!

March 14, 2012

I appreciate that Dr. Peterson will take the time to answer questions and help me out in anyway. I appreciate the time he takes with me with as busy as he is.

March 08, 2012

Dr. Peterson and Gail have been amazing throughout this whole cycle. They genuinely care about the families they take care of. This has been an amazing experience! UCRM and the people there are exceptional and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

March 07, 2012

I wish he had written down what was wrong with me.

March 07, 2012

Your services are very professional but I felt a little like a number rather than a person on the phone and at the clinic.

March 01, 2012

Dr. Peterson is excellent!

February 29, 2012

Fine...

February 25, 2012

I like to ask questions and be informed about why I am doing a procedure etc. Dr Peterson was very good at talking through my concerns. I liked that he sent me relevant articles relating to my condition so I could be up-to-date at a previous appointment.

February 20, 2012

I've been seeing Dr. Peterson for the last couple visits and he is pretty awesome.

February 20, 2012

He's great at explaining things and telling me the next step.

February 11, 2012

I was not informed or included in the plan moving forward. I was told what medication to take, and it was costly. I found out after the fact that there would be many more follow up visits than had been anticipated. I also found out by the receptionist that they would not be able to bill my insurance. I was not aware of this going into this particular cycle. My husband and I had agreed that we would not pour much more money into infertility. He had only allowed me to move forward with the cycle because the femara was inexpensive and our insurance covered the ultrasound. The cycle ended up costing $800 more than anticipated. We would have chosen to not move forward if we had been given more information.

February 08, 2012

I feel like my doctor does a good job of addressing my concerns however I feel like it would be helpful if he told me the reasons he is not doing certain things. At the beginning of my fertility treatment he gave me a little dichotomous key of what tests were getting ran and what conditions each would imply...as we have proceeded I feel like I know less and less which is going on and which path we are on. This could be because I am not good at keeping track of my questions or not asking the right ones. Sometimes I feel like I getting placed into a certain track but I do not know why we have eliminated other options. For example My doctor wanted me to go right into IVF without trying higher does of fertility medication or other pathways friends of mine had tried and I was unable to explain to family why we were jumping right into IVF.

February 08, 2012

I was really impressed with Dr. Peterson and the amount of time he spent with us.

February 01, 2012

Dr. Peterson is very kind and respectful; easy to talk to.

January 11, 2012

My doctor always listens to all of my concerns and always takes the time to answer any questions that come up. I never feel like he's rushing or doesn't have time for me.

January 07, 2012

Just had a confusion following the appointment about prescription to be used that I thought I understood during the appointment but seemed to be different after I left.

January 06, 2012

I love having Dr. Peterson as my doctor. He is wonderful!

Academic Bio
