Bio

Kent W. Farnsworth M.D. is an obstetrician and gynecologist in the General Division of the University of Utah Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Farnsworth received his medical degree and completed his residency with the University of Utah in 1975. He joined the University of Utah Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in 2004 after a long career in private practice with the Salt Lake City Clinic Partnership. Dr. Farnsworth has received several teaching awards including the Chief Residents Outstanding Clinical Professor Teaching Award in both 1988 and 1990. He has taught Continuing Education courses in a variety of fields, including Neonatal Resuscitation Training to physicians and child health providers in the People’s Republic of China and Techniques of Pelvic Surgery to health care providers in Mali Africa. Dr. Farnsworth's principle interests involve teaching pelvic reconstructive surgery and general Ob/Gyn training in Third World countries.

Academic Bio

Kent W. Farnsworth M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the University of Utah School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Farnsworth received his medical degree and completed his residency with the University of Utah School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1975. He occupied a surgery preceptorship at Texas A&M University Health Science Center in 1990 and also at the University of Michigan in 1995. Dr. Farnsworth joined the University of Utah Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in 2004 after a long career in private practice with the Salt Lake City Clinic Partnership. He was a long-time member of the University of Utah Medical School Alumni Board, and served as president from 2001-2003. He was also the Intermountain Health Care Utah Central Reform North Physician Leader for the Women and Newborn Integration Development Team from 1998-2004. Dr. Farnsworth's principle interests involve teaching pelvic reconstructive surgery and general Ob/Gyn training in Third World countries.
