She also gives me suggestions on alternative ways of taking medicine already prescribed and that has been most helpful in helping me control my pain.

UofU Patient September 03, 2012Dr. Basta always takes time to make sure she understands the complaints I have as well as making sure I am functioning well in my personal life as far as work and my children. She takes her time in talking to me and makes me feel like why I am there is important to her and that she is not rushing me to tell her what is going on so she can get to the next patient. I always leave feeling valued and cared for.

UofU Patient April 06, 2012I do not like the computer thing. It keeps the Dr. from looking at the patient, and it makes me feel as if they are not paying attention to my problems. I know they are, but they have to do 2 things at once, and it is just unfair to them and to us. Most people can't type and look at someone at the same time. The dr's aren't supposed to be secretaries!! I hate the idea of taking notes on a computer.

If she knows the answer to my question she make every effort to help me understad it. if she does'nt understand your question shes very good at trying to engage you until he does. if she does'nt know the answer there's no smoke or mirrors she tells you she does'nt know but usually has a answer the next appiontment. When I had a complication with my treatment I did'nt have a problem getting through to her & she arranged for me to be seen for which I will always be greatful. She cares not just about my symptoms she cares about me!
