Larry S. Green, M.D.

Bio

Dr. Green is Professor of Medicine in the Cardiology Division at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Utah and internal medicine and cardiology training at Duke University. He returned from Duke to serve as chief resident in internal medicine at the University of Utah and then spent an additional year of training in pediatric cardiology at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Dr. Green is also an Adjunct Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah and runs a large Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic in addition to duties in general cardiology and echocardiography at University Hospital. Dr. Green divides his professional time between adults born with congenital heart disease and general cardiology diseases in adults. He has many years experience in managing patients during pregnancy who have heart disease. He see patients three days per week at the University of Utah Medical Center and participates in outreach clinics in Ely, Nevada, Boise, Idaho, Afton, Wyoming, and Rock Springs, Wyoming.

I was seen primarily by a resident, who was great. I'm sorry I don't remember his name. He was engaged and informative, helping me understand the finer points of diuretic dosing. I had a really good experience Dr. Green during my very first appointment, but I barely saw him this time and he spent the time lecturing me on my diet without asking what my diet is. Not everyone eats white bread and red meat, and I think he shouldn't assume that without even asking.

None of my questions or concerns were answered. I was told everything is good so they didn't feel it was nessasary I had concerns or questions. Wanted to know if I need to be on plavix, all my concerns got brushed aside

Dr. Green is also a very gentle and friendly person. He took time to explain to me what was going on and what I could expect. He didn't seem to be in such a hurry to get to some other matter, but made me feel that it was important to him that I understood what he was saying. Very kind.
