UofU Patient March 18, 20136 month's ago when I was at the clinic I was completely on the outside, about my diagnosis, the resident said one thing, that gave me the impression that I would be blind in short time and the DR told me that things looked good and I should come back in 6 months and they would follow my progress. this time the Dr had a foreign resident practioneer with him and I learned more from their conversation about my care and control, & probable treatment, than I have known in the past 3 years.

UofU Patient March 11, 2013All of the actual care providers are excellent. Dr, Crandall has superior skills in the area of interpersonal relations. The young Dr. trainees are a little stiff and because they are there to learn they ask questions and do procedures that are repeated again by the doctor in charge of the case. They seem stiff and ill at ease. or perhaps just very focused and earnest. I enjoy having a small part in the learning process of young doctors.

Recent experiences in other offices had left me disillusioned: humanity had been removed completely from medical practice. A person was nothing more than the sure promise of an insurance reimbursement. A person was categorized and relegated to a stereotype. So opposite was my experience at Moran that I continue to be in a state of awe and disbelief.

I could tell that he relaxed more with me once he had seen me a few times which is natural. I think even my husband liked Dr. Crandall. I could not have asked nor selected a better doctor to be recommended for my particular eye care (catarat). He was recommended by Dr. Hartnett.

UofU Patient March 29, 2012Because Dr Crandall was running late, I felt a little shortchanged that I did not get to talk to him more. I am not sure what questions I might've asked, having done research on the internet previously, but to the surgeon, I would advise a little more time and not be quite so hasty to leave the room and let the technician as good as she was, just because one is running late. I am trusting my eye to a doctor and reassurance would've been appreciated. Don't cheat the patient out of your time because you are late is what I would say. I could tell the doctor was ready to leave the room after his initial check on my eyes and let the tech finish up. It took me some months to finally take this step (Jan until March).
