Dr Buys is an outstanding doctor. She is caring, articulate, and extremely knowledgeable. She has my greatest respect and appreciation for the way she has taken the time to heal me from cancer. I cannot thank her enough.

Dr. Buys took extra time to actually diagram out a complicated process for me. I am a visualy learner so this really helped me to understand. She also demonstrated great compassion towards me when I explained some of my anxieties. She didn't treat me like just another patient.

When my sisters were moving me up here from Texas, they called people that had worked with or been patients at Huntsman and asked who we should see. Everyone who responded said Dr. Buys, so I thought I probably wouldn't be able to get an appt., I don't know if I just got lucky but I had an appt on the week I got here. If anyone asked me who to see I would tell them Dr. Buys, she's awesome.

Dr.Buys is caring, compassionate and wise. I have been battling stage IV breast cancer for 4.5 years, and she goes above and beyond EVERYTIME I meet with her. When there is a difficult decision to make regarding treatment, she is always patient, and gives a full, easy to understand descripion of the options. I have asked her "how long do I have to live"? Dr. Buys always answers honestly and compassionately. If I could nominate her for Person of The Year and she could be on the cover of Time Magazine, I would.

I always feel as though I'm the only patient being seen. I never feel rushed- the doctor and med students are very good at gauging their flow of conversation to mine. If I'm no nonsense and want to get in and out, that's what they accomplish. If I need time to talk, they talk.

I was impressed with the time spent explaining my type of cancer.

I am always comfortable with Dr. Buys but on this visit I did not feel comfortable with the medical intern working with her. I did not feel the warmth from her like I have with other doctors in training and did not feel she really listened to me. Not a good experience with her.

It is always nice to meet with Dr. Buys and her staff. She is always in a great mood that spills over onto the other staff members and also to me. She is always interested in ME and what is going on in my life. I just lover her and everyone there....

Dr. Buys is awesome. I have recommended her to friends. She is never too busy to "read between the lines" and find out how I am doing as a person with my family concerns as well as my health issues. She is not afraid to give a much needed hug and show concern. She is not the norm for a Dr. now days.

Couldn't ask for a better Dr./patient relationship. I totally trust and admire Dr. Buys professional opinions and treatments. In my opinion, it's Dr.'s like Dr. Buys and their teams that give the Huntsman Cancer Institute the great reputation that it has become.

Dr. Buys and her fellow receive an A+ from me. I left their clinic feeling totally satisfied with the explanations that were provided and with our joint decision regarding further care. Huntsman is lucky to have such excellent and professional staff. My overall experience through the entire process has been more than favorable. I will have a long life, but there are many who are much worse off than I, and I am sure they all receive the same excellent care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Buys for nearly 7 years (I am age 67) and I have never known or been treated by a doctor as competent and compassionate as Dr. Buys. She listens to every complaint or question and takes the time to respond and is so very kind. No matter what the problem might be at the time, you can't help walking out of the examination room without a smile on your face. She is the best of the best!

I was most impressed with every person on the staff that I came in contact with. Have never had such a good experience with any other medical office.

"5" is not a big enough number to award Dr Buys. She goes far beyond the care and attention most doctors provide. She cares about the individual and goes well beyond the norm to listen, and to educate her patient. She also called me at 9 at night on a Friday to discuss a concern I had, and never made me feel out of place for invading her personal time with my issues. She is such a dedicated doctor and I am so lucky to have found her.

Oh my gosh... Dr. Buys couldn't have been any kinder. She is awesome and I feel so blessed that she's my personal oncologist. I'd heard amazing things about her prior to actually meeting with her, and now I understand why she has the amazing reputation that she does. She and her 2 nurses who saw me were so, so kind and so sweet and just really made me feel like they wanted to help take care of my health. Each of them even gave me a hug at the end of my visit. I'll always remember that. They were all just so, so sweet.

I feel that adequate time was spent with me. Alot of questions were asked, adequate information was gathered.

I had many concerns and questions and Dr. Buys spent a lot of time with me. I know some of the questions I have asked before, but Dr. Buys is always patient and willing to spend time to talk to me. This was the first time in a long time that Dr. Buys was not accompanied by a handful of resident/interns/visiting doctors and it was quite nice just to spend time with her alone.

Dr. Buys took the time to write down notes for me as she explained my cancer, my options, and treatment. I have referred to them many times since the visit to help clarify any questions I have had. I was very impressed with the amount of time she spent with me and the direct phone calls she made to my mastectomy surgeons and radiologist. I was grateful to know that there were no missing links or disconnects with my cancer diagnosis and treatment, we were all on the same page. She obtained my medical reports and OncoType test to help her to make a personalized recommendation of treatment for me.

I had a concern and even though it was late in the day I was provided a sonogram requiring people to stay late. It was very helpful to me to have the information from the test right away.

I appreciate Dr. Buys empathy

I really like Dr. Buys but I did get the feeling she thought I was "pressing on the lump and making it inflamed" when in fact I had not. I only felt it 3 times in 2 weeks as I was in "denial mode." I only felt it enough to verify it was there. I think having a diagnosis of anxiety causes providers to treat me as if I am an overly anxious person when in fact it is well controlled.

My caregivers have always been pleasant and never in a hurry, I love the hugs I receive from many of the staff.

I wished I would have been notified of her concern when my blood test and ct scans concerned her earlier than this visit. Maybe we could have changed my medication earlier.

Dr. Buys' willingness to work with me on my wellness plan and concern over medication side effects has made all the difference in my health. I've been scared about taking Tamoxifen and, while it's still something I know is available, it has been huge incentive to address my overall health. The outcome has been not only improved health for me overall, but I've been an inspiration to others who are in my age group looking to prevent future health problems. A million thank you's to Dr. Buys!!

We were very impressed with Dr. Buys, and are feeling very comfortable about working with her. She was thorough, invested in making the best possible decisions for my care, and very easy to talk to. And, the hug she gave me at the end of the appointment meant a lot!!
