My academic degrees are in both medicine and biostatistics.
Having retired from clinical medicine in 2007, I now mentor students, residents, and faculty in methods of experiemental design and statisitical analysis.
As a MStat level practiioner, I am an applied statistician. My statistical competence includes generalized linear mixed effects models and generalized nonlinear mixed effects models in the analysis of clinical data and in pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling of drug studies; meta analysis of intervention, diagnostic test, and prognostic factors systematic reviews..
I currectly have a leadership role in the Cochrane Collaboration and activiely work in the writing, editing, statistical analysing of systematic reviews and meta analyses.
I am the local champion of the Multicenter Peroperative Outcomes Group (MPOG) consortium. Clinical data including high resolution intraoperative vital signs and events are used to explore associations between risk factors, anesthetic managment, and outcomes.
