Kyle M. Smith, M.D.

Bio

Kyle M. Smith, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Dr. Smith obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He subsequently received his medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed a combined residency in Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Utah. Currently, Dr. Smith works as a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Primary Children's Medical Center on the Behavioral Health Consultation-Liaison Service. He is also an attending physician with the Child and Adolescent Residential and Day Treatment Programs at the Wasatch Canyons Campus.

As a board certified pediatrician and board eligible child psychiatrist, Dr. Smith has an interest in enhancing collaboration between pediatrics and child psychiatry. He is also interested in the behavioral and psychiatric problems commonly seen among youth with chronic physical illness, and he is working toward the development of a day treatment program for medically complicated patients with comorbid psychiatric diagnoses.
