  • Jeff Pettey, MD, MBA, is Moran's Vice-Chair of Clinical Affairs and an Associate Professor at the University of Utah Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Dr. Pettey specializes in complex cataract surgery and complex anterior segment surgery as with post-traumatic eye injuries. He performs all forms of cataract surgery including premium lens technologies.

    Dr. Pettey has an active interest in health policy and since 2012 has participated in Capitol Hill visits to Utah’s congressional delegation in Washington D.C. He holds committee positions for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is the Chief of Ophthalmology at the Salt Lake City VA Hospital.

    Dr. Pettey is active in local and international ophthalmology outreach and has lectured internationally on the topics of ophthalmic education and ophthalmology outreach. He has worked in Micronesia, Honduras, Guatemala, Republic of Georgia, Nepal, Trinidad, and Tanzania. He is a founder and medical director of Moran’s surgical outreach arm, Operation Sight.
