First the assistant came in and asked question and that person was very nice and professional. Then the PA came in and asked questions. Both of those individuals were very caring and appropriate. It took awhile for the doctor to come. She asked the same questions the assistant and the PA did. She seemed to have a contradictory opinion of the PA, and her recommendation for treatment and follow-up were not clear. This was a little odd and unsettling. As someone who works in health care, I want a clear understanding of treatment and follow-up. The doctor seemed almost reluctant to offer any treatment and acted as if I should not have come in to the doctor's office. This can be very off-putting to patients. I did not have the same interaction with the assistant or the PA.

She was willing to spend time answering my questions. It felt like there was plenty of time allotted for my appointment. Sometimes Dr's seem rushed because their appointments are scheduled too close together. I'm glad it did not feel like that at this appointment.

She was extremely rushed and didn't bother to get to know me. I was wearing a U of U t-shirt indicating I am an employee of the University and she couldn't even muster up enough small talk to ask me where I worked. She rushed me through the whole process with little explanation of what she was doing and why.

Malea was very pleasant and understanding. She did not have much understanding for my problem which was frustrating since the office visits are expensive; however, she did talk to someone who did later in the day and called me about it and had me schedule another appointment with that doctor (which was really great care, but doubled the price of my care).

I introduced a new concern about some fungus growth beginning to appear in my toenails and asked if Dr. Satterwhite thought it might be a concern. She examined my toenails and told me about some possible side effects to my kidneys from the strongest medication. I remembered a similar conversation several years ago the last time I had toenail fungus. Dr. S. set up an appointment for me to meet with a diabetic podiatrist, for which I am grateful.

while they were nice, I was not given a yes or no answer on whither my incision was infected nor was I give antibiotics in case it was. I left with the same information as when I came.

Provider did not return my calls on the day I needed information about medications that were not covering my pain. The call was returned the next day which is unsatisfactory to me.

Malea was very professional and kind. She was efficient and did not waste my time. She also suggested I come back for my annual which was a good idea. I've seen her before. I believe she is very trustworthy and friendly.

While I felt like the PA knew what she was talking about and kept the explanations simple, she seemed reluctant and vague to explain who she would consult with about my problem. I feel like a PA should be clearly under the supervision of a licensed doctor, and not allowed to just dole out diagnoses and treatments by themselves. That made me a little uncomfortable.

I felt the doctor was good, but she did not apologize for my wait (she might not have known how long I was in the exam room). I felt like she rushed through the exam.

I've not seen an NP before. She was not as warm as the other doctors I've seen and I had a few issues that I needed help with. I don't feel like she really helped address some of them and she wanted me to come back for something I'd hoped to resolve during that visit. Some of the issues were embarassing to me and she didn't seem very empathetic towards that. She was knowledgeable which I appreciate, but I think I'll stick to my regular physicians next time.

I have been an ICU nurse for 9 years, so I try very hard not to be an annoying patient. I do appreciate it when providers speak to me as a patient who has some background knowledge, and I felt that Malea was great in addressing my concerns on an appropriate level for me.
