Andrea Schindler, MS, APRN, GNP-BC, is a Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah. Her clinical practice resides at the Hematologic Malignancies Clinic 2B at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. As a Hematologic Malignancies Nurse Practitioner, her clinical interests include long term complications of Blood and Marrow Transplantation, Chronic Graft versus Host Disease, Leukemia, Lymphoma, effects of cancer diagnoses on sexual functioning, and quality of life issues.

Schindler received her MSN from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She received training in medicine and Nursing from Massachusetts General Hospital and began working in the Utah Blood and Marrow Transplant Program in 1995 and remained there for 11 years before relocating temporarily to the state of Rhode Island where she worked in a hospital based Hematology/Oncology practice affiliated with the Brown Medical School for 4 years. She returned to the University of Utah/Huntsman Cancer Hospital Blood and Marrow Program in 2010 and initially took on a dual role both in the Hematologic Malignancies clinic and BMT clinic before making the full transition to the Hematologic Malignancies clinic in 2012. Schindler has extensive experience and expertise in performing bone marrow biopsies and aspirates, lumbar punctures and the administration of intrathecal chemotherapeutics. In the past, Schindler served as a clinical supervisor in both the Utah Blood and Marrow Transplant Program as well as the Hematology/Oncology program at The Miriam Hospital in Rhode Island. She is a board certified Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
