Bio

Caroline K. Milne, M.D., is Associate Professor and Associate Chairman for Education and Program Director of the Internal Medicine Training Program at the University of Utah. Dr. Milne serves as the Director of the Fourth Year Student Sub-Internship and is Director of Clinical Skills within the School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and completed her residency training at the University of Utah where she also served as Chief Medical Resident. She then completed a fellowship in medical education research at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her clinical duties are at the VAMC where she continues to see patients and teach residents in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.

Academic Bio

Dr. Milne's research interests are in medical education and have focused on the use of dependable measures to assess residents’ competence in the Six Core Competencies.

Dr. Milne also directs the clinical skills exam program in the medical school as well as the implementation of the use of standardized patients in geriatric training at the resident training level on the nationally supported Reynold’s Grant. She is a member of the AAIM Accreditation Committee and the USMLE/NBME Step 3 Item Review Committee.
