Bio

Dr. Herbener received her medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of Utah at Primary Children’s Medical Center. Prior to joining the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases she worked at the University of Utah Health Care Redwood Center.

Dr. Herbener was a Disease Intervention Specialist for the Bureau of Epidemiology at the Utah Department of Health. She currently serves on the Utah Health Advisory Council for the Utah Department of Health.

Her academic interests include emerging respiratory viruses, translational research, hospital epidemiology and public policy.
