Cannot say enough about Dr. House and his level of attentiveness to myself and friend during my appointment. We had driven 6+ hours to get to there, and at no time did we feel rushed, or that he was waiting to move on to the next patient. The surgery options were explained in depth, and I was left feeling like I had informed decisions in front of me. We were so grateful for Dr. House to rearrange his surgical schedule to get us in the next day!

Dr. House was very patient with our many questions. He explained the procedure again. He showed us the most recent MRI results from just two hours prior to our appointment. He explained post operative care and what we could expect. He was confident about his skills and knowledge without being arrogant. He looked us in the eyes when he was explaining things to us. He was very kind, courteous and he took the time we needed to feel comfortable with the surgery that was going to be performed.

Dr. House was excellent, professional, and very friendly.

March 27, 2014

Dr. House is the only doctor I have had experience with, that has taken personal steps to write and send emails to insurance or others if there is a problem taking care of his patients. He is not only professional and caring, but personable and friendly. He understands the degree of the patients capability and adjusts his explanations and discussion to fit the patients needs. He could see/sense my wife's concerns and carefully persisted until she had discussed them and was satisfied (or at least relieved by understanding any risks) When discussing the past DBS billing and insurance, he committed to review and resolve his and our questions. This shows how committed Dr House is to helping his patients and understanding all aspects of the patients relationship with the hospital and it's staff. I have talked to every person who I have met, or have stopped me because of their or my PD. I have always referred them to Dr Schrock, and Dr House. I carry a card in my wallet with contact information, phone numbers, etc.. and many have emailed me back fort more information. I have worked with other patients when referred back to me by Dr schrock or our PD group, and all have completed DBS with the ray of hope team.

December 23, 2013

We felt rushed. We had many more questions but the nurse appeared advising Dr House was needed...signaling our time was limited. This did not sit well with either of us and we were both quite disappointed. Perhaps Dr House felt he had discussed our concerns earlier...nontheless, we needed reinforcement and his patience, understanding and willingness to give us the time we needed.

How come he didnt give me any medications i could take that might work better? i dont feel he gave me a fair shake and didnt go over my medical history enough to know my case. No-name disease? Academic Bio

My research, performed in collaboration with colleagues in Bioengineering and Neurology, is focused in two areas, both utilizing electrocorticography recording techniques. One overarching goal is to provide more detailed descriptions of seizure origination and propagation in neocortical epilepsy. We have performed semi-chronic recordings in human patients at several orders of spatial resolution by using penetrating and non-penetrating microelectrodes in addition to more traditional recording techniques. These recordings have allowed for analysis of seizure propagation from the scale of single unit activity to lobar involvement. The second overarching goal is to provide descriptions of information content, again across several orders of scale, that can be recorded with these interface devices. Some of these descriptions have been published in regards to their possible utility in brain-machine interface devices.
