UofU Patient December 25, 2012I answered with two individuals in mind, the Urology Resident who came into my exam room first, then the Urologist himself. As a new patient, and quite aware of cancer issues, I came to the appointment with some specific questions in mind. Although professional, I thought the Resident could have been a bit more accepting and affirming of my general urology questions. On the contrary, he seemed a bit amused, and I wasn't confident his answers were always spot on. This was not the case with the Urologist, who seemed competent and inviting of my inquiries. In summary: if patients are going to own their care, doctors (especially those in training) must invite questions.
