UofU Patient May 03, 2013Last month I had gone to Dr. McKay because I could not read out of my right eye which is monovision for up close.....It wasn't any better so he tweaked it again. I think his resident did the one last month and I just don't think the prescription was correct. I'm hoping this helps. I also hope that there isn't something wrong with my eye..hopefully the new prescription will work...I've had monovision for years, but maybe at 75 not a good idea, I just don't know.
UofU Patient April 22, 2013I so wish I could buy or use the drops that reverse the pupil dilation as the dilated pupils lasted until I went to bed that night; the dilated pupils trigger my migraines.
UofU Patient April 19, 2013Dr. McKay was OUTSTANDING!! I like him a lot and would gladly recommend him to my wife and/or other prospective patients. He is very qualified. Has a great "bedside manner" (or whatever that equivalent is for ophthalmologists....). Very friendly. Interested in ME.

UofU Patient January 09, 2013Even though I understand medical jargon, Dr. McKay didn't use any, yet didn't condescend me as someone who doesn't have an M.D. He was chatty and informal which made me less stressed about his potential findings. He was also polite and at ease, he seemed like he liked his work, which is really important.

UofU Patient December 18, 2012Regarding #7. Had either the intern or Dr. Mackay spoken to me in simplistic terms, I would find that very offensive. I think both spoke to me as one professional to another, although we are not in the same profession.

UofU Patient October 09, 2012I don't feel that I got good feedback about what exactly was wrong with my daughters eyes and I am not sure why I am seeing a specialist (I am assuming we are unable to determine her vision prescription- but it was not explained throughly to me). I would have liked a better discussion with the doctor about what each term means, ie- stigmatism, level of vision, a step by step explaination of what he was doing with her eyes as he was doing it. All vision needs are new and foreign to me, I don't feel I was educated during my visit.

I didn't quit feel like my concern was fully addressed and the provider didn't give me an explenation at the end of my visit about what he planned to do about my last prescription being too strong and if he was going to reduce it. Like I said the provider was personable enough and made me feel very comfortable. It would be nice to recieve more thorough explenations. Other than that and the wait my experience was very enjoyable.
