Dr Bahler’s research interests include clinical applications of flow cytometry to diagnostic hematopathology, the role of chronic antigen stimulation and autoimmune disease in the development of lymphoid neoplasms, and the development and use of molecular hematopathology tests.

Academic Bio

Dr. Bahler is the medical director of the Hematologic Flow Cytometry and Molecular Hematopathology Laboratories and an Associate Professor of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Bahler received his MD and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Rochester, and did his residency training at the University of Pennsylvania, post-doctoral training at Stanford University, and a hematopathology fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. He is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Clinical Pathology with added qualification in Hematology, and is on the medical staff of the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, in Salt Lake City.
