Bio

Joanna C. Beachy, M.D., Ph.D. is an attending neonatologist for the Newborn Intensive Care Units (ICU) at Primary Children's Medical Center, the University of Utah Medical Center and Intermountain Medical Center. She currently serves as the Associate Medical Director for the Newborn ICU at the University of Utah Medical Center. Dr. Beachy provides care for premature infants, critically ill newborns and newborn infants with a large variety of birth defects.

Joanna C. Beachy, M.D., Ph.D. is an attending neonatologist for the Newborn Intensive Care Units (ICU) at Primary Children's Medical Center, the University of Utah Medical Center and Intermountain Medical Center. She currently serves as the Associate Medical Director for the Newborn ICU at the University of Utah Medical Center. Dr. Beachy provides care for premature infants, critically ill newborns and newborn infants with a large variety of birth defects.

Dr. Beachy’s primary research interests are focused on neurodevelopment and long-term outcomes. She is the primary investigator in a clinical research study investigating the development and treatment of post-hemorrhagic ventricular dilatation in preterm infants. She is also involved in evaluation of the impact of hypothermia on term infants with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
