Bio

Dr. Angela Eastvold is a clinical neuropsychologist in the General Neurology Division. She performs neuropsychological evaluations on patients with epilepsy, including pre- and post-surgical assessments, and is an integral member of the epilepsy team. Dr. Eastvold also has specialized training in the neuropsychological assessment of all severity levels of traumatic brain injury (TBI), particularly complicated mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and neurologic/psychiatric differential diagnosis (e.g., mTBI and PTSD). She is a member of the Sports Neuropsychology Society and the neuropsychologist for the REAL Salt Lake soccer players responsible for performing all baseline and post-concussion assessments and contributing to the return-to-play decision making process. Her experience evaluating veterans exposed to repetitive blast injuries and retired NFL players has evolved into a desire to better understand of the consequences of repetitive insults to the brain, leading to chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

Dr. Eastvold’s other clinical interests include neuropsychological assessment of movement disorders, brain tumor, toxic exposures (e.g., carbon monoxide poisoning), multiple sclerosis, CNS infections, stroke, major medical interventions (e.g., cardiac surgery, chemotherapy, radiation)., as well as complimentary and alternative treatment modalities.
