Bio

Laura Nell Hodo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. She trained in family medicine and worked at a federally qualified health center, practicing full-spectrum family medicine, before becoming a hospitalist. She directs the Family Medicine Team at Primary Children’s Hospital, the core inpatient pediatrics rotation for three different Family Medicine residency programs, and she also serves as Course Director for the Pediatric Practice Management Elective and the Pediatric Admitting Resident rotation. She completed her undergraduate education at Brandeis University, followed by a Masters degree in Economic and Social History/History of Medicine at Oxford University, as a Rhodes Scholar. She attended Harvard Medical School and completed residency at the University of Utah, graduating in 2006. Her interests include medical student and resident education, quality improvement, reducing disparities in medicine, care of underserved communities, and adolescent health care.
