Leigh was very good, she really listened to me, asked me follow up questions, and listened to what I was saying. She talked to me about what might be going on and possible treatment and kept me involved in what labs she ordered. Dr. Elrod is extremely kind. She took the time to explain to me what a gallbladder is and what it's purpose was. She genuinely is concerened about my stomach pain and increased my Omeperozol medication to take twice a day of which helped. She answered all of my questions and she is GREAT!

She did not listen to me but had already decided what drug to give me. She sent an escript before telling me what she had prescribed & didn't take seriously my previous allergic reactions nor my request for a different drug.

Listens and really cares about you as a person. It is hard to find providers who you know are super busy, yet sit and listen and really engage the patient.

My provider I would rate as number one! She explained the purpose of a gallbladder to me in terms I can understand and she was very friendly and courteous to me.

I have never been treated with this kind of concern or care by a care giver. The PA was as efficient as any MD, but was very careful to give me all of the time and answers to any questions. Efforts to explain the next step was excellent. The PA took much more time than normal to answer my questions and what I need to do for the next step. I have all of the confidence in that I could hope to have because of the way I was treated by both the PA and the nurse. I could no be any happier with the care provided!

Elrod was impressive. She gave me the pros and cons, side effects etc of procedures. She was informed and let me know if she had doubts or other concerns. Alternatively, she made me feel confident, comfortable and... safe. I didn't feel disconnected as some provider to patient do. Elrod, was professional but made me feel content and relaxed. I will definitely seek her out again.

Leigh asked me if this or that was okay or if I wanted to do it. She included me in my care. Yes, she used words that I understood and explained everything very well. The time spent with me was terrific. I have to say that about each time I have visited any Provider at Madsen. They take the time with you that is needed to make sure every base is covered, you understand and all is well.

Leigh and Lori (PA student) were both great. I liked that they listened to me, and that they explained the current theory for treatment of my sinus infection. I much prefer to have an understanding of the reasoning behind giving or withholding medication than to just be told what to do.

Last first: I don't tend to get into conversations where recommending a care provider is likely to occur. I have never had a female care provider and wasn't certain I wanted one, but she seems competent - I'll stick; give her a try.

My experiences with University of Utah Health Care over the years have generally been quite favorable. I have seen some great PAs and MDs. That said, I must note that Leigh Elrod has easily been the best of these. She is competent and personable, and her listening skills are truly exceptional. Such refined listening skills are not common anywhere, and especially not in the medical community. I have seen Leigh twice recently for sinus issues and will be seeing her for all my primary health care needs in the future, as well as recommending her to others. We should all be so lucky to have such a capable health care provider. I hope these comments will be passed to both Leigh and her supervisor. Thanks.

Leigh is the best care provider I have ever had. I always leave the clinic with a clear understanding of my health and what steps need to be taken to feel better. This time around I went in for a physical because I am going to start training for a marathon. I left the clinic feeling really good about my decision and confident about the training I will be doing.
