Kirsti Rinne completed her training as a Women's Health Nurse practitioner at Boston College in 2008. With no place to call home, Kirsti traveled through Central America before finding herself living and working as a labor nurse on the island of St Thomas. Eventually she was drawn to Utah to be close to family but, immediately fell in love with the Utah mountains and desert. After several years of working in Salt Lake City as a Nurse Practitioner at Planned Parenthood and the University of Utah OB Emergency Department, Kirsti decided to return to school to study midwifery. She received her post-graduate training from the University of Utah and shortly after joined the BirthCare HealthCare practice. Driven by a passion for global health work, in 2015 Kirsti went on an assignment with the organization Doctors Without Borders to the Ethiopia-Somali border. As an expat nurse midwife in the Somali region, she spent time educating the community and national staff midwives as well as provided reproductive healthcare for women in the region. Kirsti offers full scope midwifery care, including: prenatal care, management of labor and delivery and postpartum care. Additionally, she provides general gynecology care and reproductive counseling. She is currently accepting new patients.
