Dr David E. Morgan III (Ned) is an Associate Professor in the department of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah. He is Co-Director of Cardiac Anesthesia and Director of the Cath Lab Anesthesia Service at the University of Utah. He is also Assistant Director of Anesthesia Services at the George E Wahlen VA Medical Center. Dr. Morgan is a Cardiac Anesthesiologist with fellowship training in adult perioperative echocardiography. He is a member of the Cardiac, Perioperative Echocardiography and Preop Clinic subspecialty teams.
Dr. Morgan's clinical and teaching interests include the use of echocardiography to guide anesthetic management for cardiac as well as non-cardiac surgery. His particular interests within this field include cardiomyopathy, adult congenital heart disease, echocardiography for transplant surgery and perioperative management of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators.
Dr Morgan's research interests include the use of echocardiography in the perioperative setting as well as vascular function in various disease states including heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Dr. Morgan is a member of the Utah Vascular Research Laboratory.
