Bio

Dr. Burch performs repairs for a wide variety of congenital cardaic anomalies. In additon to clinical responsibilities, Dr. Burch has research interests in single ventricle physiology as well as in derangements in normal neonatal metabolism caused by cardiac surgery.

Academic Bio

Dr. Burch obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Chemistry and subsequently attended medical school at the University of South Alabama completing his medical degree in 1998. Between 1998 and 2004 Dr. Burch performed his General Surgery residency at the University of Louisville with a one year research fellowship from 2000-2001. After completing his residency in General Surgery, he pursued additional training in adult cardiac surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville from 2004-2006. In 2006 Dr. Burch came to the University of Utah for subspecialty training in congenital cardiac surgery. Since completion of his training in 2008 Dr.Burch joined the faculty of the University of Utah and currently practices congenital cardiac surgery at Primary Children's Medical Center.
