Bio

Dr. McDonnell received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas, completed his Pediatrics residency at Arkansas Children´s Hospital, and his Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at the University of Colorado. He is board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

He is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah and provides medical care for sick and injured children in the Emergency Department at Primary Children´s Medical Center. Dr. McDonnell’s research interests include the legal regulation of health care delivery, health policy, and biomedical ethics. Additionally, Dr. McDonnell serves as the Director of the Center for Children’s Environmental Health Law and Policy, where his research and advocacy work focuses on legal and public policy approaches to reduce the harmful effects of environmental pollution on children’s health.
