  • Dr. Sandweiss completed college and medical school at UCLA, and, in 1999, Pediatric Residency at University of Washington/Seattle Children's Hospital. He practiced general pediatrics for Navajo Area Indian Health Service for 5 years, and then settled in Salt Lake City, where he has been on faculty in the Dept of Pediatrics with the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Dr. Sandweiss is the Director of Rural and American Indian Outreach for the Dept of Pediatrics Global, Rural, and Underserved Child Health Program, and the Director of the Rural and Underserved Medicine Pathway for the School of Medicine. Dr. Sandweiss became interested in health provider wellness and resilience in 2015, and in 2018, co-developed and implemented the Mindfulness in Medicine Program for Intermountain Health and U-Health. He continues to facilitate mindfulness-based interventions for health care providers.
