  • Terri Hancock, DNP, ACNP-BC, is a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Utah. Her clinical practice is with the Cardiovascular Multispecialty Outreach Team both locally and in the underserved areas of Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado and Wyoming. As a Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner, Terri is involved in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. She strives to provide excellent patient care and enjoys interacting with patients to build a relationship of trust with them. She is passionate about providing education to patients regarding their cardiac condition and fostering an environment where each patient feels that their specific needs are being met.

    Terri earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a specialization in Acute Care from the University of Utah in 2011. Her doctoral project examined the Quality of Life Outcomes for Heart Failure Patients After Autologous Stem Cell Therapy. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Terri had 16 years of critical care nursing experience working in the ICU and with a medical flight transport team on a fixed-wing aircraft, Ventricular Assist Device Team, and Intra-aortic Balloon Pump Team.

    Her clinical and academic interests include the management and treatment of a variety of cardiovascular disease: cardiac arrhythmias, dyspnea, general cardiology, heart failure, heart transplant, hypertension, implantable cardiac devices, interventional cardiology, mechanical circulatory assist devices, preventive cardiology, and valvular heart disease.
