Bio

Kalyani Samudra has been in clinical practice for over 15 years. She has worked with emotionally disturbed youth in both academic and community/public psychiatry settings, and across inpatient, residential, day treatment and outpatient settings. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and neurology in both General Psychiatry and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has been providing direct clinical care to patients at the University Neuropsychiatric Institute's inpatient and day treatment programs since 2011.

Academic Bio

Kalyani Samudra earned her baccalaureate degree at the University of Chicago and her doctorate at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She was trained in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the UCLA-Neuropsychiatric Institute; she is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both specialties. She has authored several book chapters and is a member of several professional societies. She joined the University of Utah as adjunct faculty in 2007, and as full time faculty in 2011. She teaches and supervises residents and medical students in clinical settings and does didactic teaching as well. Her areas of interest include inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry, public psychiatry, and child advocacy.
