Dr. Russell J. Osguthorpe received his medical degree from the McGill University School of Medicine, completed his residency at The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine. He was on faculty at Washington University for two years prior to coming to Primary Children’s Medical Center and Intermountain Healthcare. Dr. Osguthorpe is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Osguthorpe currently works at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center (UVRMC) as the Pediatric Medical Director and as the Pediatric Hospitalists Medical Director. He is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah and in partnership with Primary Children’s Hospital and the U of U Dept. of Pediatrics is building a group of pediatric subspecialists at UVRMC. He is also serves as faculty with the Utah Valley Family Medicine Residency program. Dr. Osguthorpe sits on the Intermountain Medical Group Physicians board.
His academic interests include developing mixed matrix models of pediatric subspecialty care between traditional children’s hospitals and larger affiliated medical centers. He is actively engaged in learning how to extend the reach of the traditional children’s hospital to children living at distance from the children’s hospital.
