Gitana Staskus, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Staskus was recruited to the University of Utah in 2008. Before that she practiced endocrinology at Woodstock Medical Center, Woodstock, IL. Dr. Staskus graduated with honors from the Vilnius University and underwent postgraduate residency training in Lithuania. She underwent further residency training in Internal Medicine at the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook, Chicago, IL in 2003 and fellowship training in Endcorinology and Metabolism at the Rush University , Chicago, IL.

Dr. Staskus’ clinical and research areas of interests are inpatient and outpatient diabetes management, insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring. She is actively involved in teaching of medical and physician assistant students.

Dr. Staskus is listed in "Guide to America's Top Physicians" by Consumers Research Council of America since 2009.

I am sure the staff handles a great number of patients, but the feeling is that the care provider knows you and is very familiar with your case. One feels like an individual rather than a number.

Dr. Staskus is thorough and thoughtful. She always spends sufficient time with me to answer my questions and discuss my concerns. I feel she is genuinely concerned about my health and wants to find better ways for me to control my blood sugar levels.

My doctor is very knowledgeable and exactly know what was wrong with me or what I need. She does not use jargons. Explains everything in layman term. I feel very comfortable with my doctor.
